Brent Sjoberg obviously hasn’t been paying attention to the new trend in civic bankruptcies south of the border. Its time to wake up and change the plan. Lower pension payouts and increase employee contributions now and leave the taxpayer out of it. We already pay enough into this unsustainable ponzi scheme.
Let’s be clear who is on the hook.
“The only way the plan is going to go bankrupt ever is if the city goes bankrupt, which is highly unlikely,” Brent Sjoberg, deputy city manager and chief financial officer, told the Leader-Post in a recent interview.
