US Carbon Output Forecasts Shrink Again

Much to the surprise (and, one suspects, the chagrin) of the deranged doomsaying wing of the environmental movement, new forecasts of US CO2 emission are out and they point to an even steeper drop than the last set of predictions.

No cap and trade, no huge new taxes on oil, no draconian driver restrictions, no air conditioning bans, no rationing — and the US is on track to cut its CO2 emissions 17 percent below the 2005 levels by 2020 — and to keep cutting our emissions levels beyond that.

I’m sure Southern Democrats thought segregating schools was “The Right Thing To Do” as well…

Obama: (Insert Issue Here) ‘It’s the Right Thing to Do’ – ABC News.

Doing the right thing seems to be hard for everyone, except President Obama. He always seems to know the “right thing to do.” Indeed, he uses his presidential remarks to instruct the American people on the right thing to do over and over again.

Antarctic ice shelves not melting at all, new field data show • The Register.

It turns out that past studies, which were based on computer models without any direct data for comparison or guidance, overestimate the water temperatures and extent of melting beneath the Fimbul Ice Shelf. “The popcorn isn’t a whole lot better than the soda,” Vladeck said.

Another board member thinks milk drinks should fall under the size limits.

Texas dad “remorseful” after catching man molesting his daughter and beating him to death « Hot Air.

The case is headed to a grand jury but this guy’s more likely to land on Barbara Walters’s couch than in prison. I’d be surprised if there’s a GJ in America that would indict him; if there is, lord knows it’s not in Texas.

Media bias can take many forms. Ignoring the story is just one of them…

NBC Nightly News Devotes Mere Seconds to First-Ever Mention of Fast and Furious.

In the eighteen months since the Operation Fast & Furious investigation began, Brian Williams and NBC Nightly News have never mentioned the Department of Justice’s gunwalking controversy. Tonight, in their first mention of the scandal–ever–NBC Nightly News and Brian Williams distorted Attorney General Eric Holder’s testimony.
