It Should Be A National Holiday

Best President of my lifetime…

February 6th, 2011 will mark the late President Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday and now it will be an official day to remember in California.
Former First Lady Nancy Reagan joined California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Simi Valley today for a ceremonial signing of a bill making February 6th “Ronald Reagan Day.“
The 89-year-old former first lady was balancing on a cane and the governor’s arm as she walked into the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
She smiled as Schwarzenegger signed a pair of bills one marking the yearly celebration of Reagan’s birthday in California and the other establishing a commission to plan Reagan centennial events.
Schwarzenegger told the audience, “Ronald Reagan is my hero.“ – NBC

Time To Nuke North Korea

It should be obvious to everyone involved that these crazy bastards are completely out of control and need to be put down.

North Korea said it would counter U.S. and South Korean joint naval exercises with “nuclear deterrence” after the Obama administration said the government in Pyongyang shouldn’t take any provocative steps.

North Korea will “legitimately counter with their powerful nuclear deterrence the largest-ever nuclear war exercises to be staged by the U.S. and the South Korean puppet forces,” the National Defense Commission said, according to the Korean Central News Agency. – Bloomberg

Barry has declared “Mission Accomplished” in his fight to revive the US economy…

President Barack Obama acknowledges that the fall elections could amount to a referendum on his stewardship of the nation’s affairs.

Obama tells NBC in an interview that “nobody in the White House is satisfied” with continuing high unemployment.

But he also says the midterm congressional elections could come down to “a choice between the policies that got us into this mess and my policies that got us out of this mess.” – AP

When its just too hard to man your own picket line…

Billy Raye, a 51-year-old unemployed bike courier, is looking for work.

Fortunately for him, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters is seeking paid demonstrators to march and chant in its current picket line outside the McPherson Building, an office complex here where the council says work is being done with nonunion labor.

“For a lot of our members, it’s really difficult to have them come out, either because of parking or something else,” explains Vincente Garcia, a union representative who is supervising the picketing.

So instead, the union hires unemployed people at the minimum wage—$8.25 an hour—to walk picket lines. Mr. Raye says he’s grateful for the work, even though he’s not sure why he’s doing it. “I could care less,” he says. “I am being paid to march around and sound off.” – WSJ

Obama Cracks Down On The Internet

Looks like Barry is using a sledgehammer to shut down a few file sharing sites.

After the U.S. Government took action against several sites connected to movie streaming recently, nerves are jangling over the possibility that this is just the beginning of a wider crackdown. Now it appears that a free blogging platform has been taken down by its hosting provider on orders from the U.S. authorities on grounds of “a history of abuse”. More than 73,000 blogs are out of action as a result.
