First Napolitano, now McCain. Don’t these people know anything?

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., makes the dubious claim that Sept. 11 hijackers entered the United States through Canada — just days after Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano came under fire for saying the same thing. - Fox News

More Appeasement

It is hard to come up with a single issue that Obama has been on the right side of in his first 100 days. Case in point…

The Obama administration has asked a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit against Iran filed by Americans held hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran 30 years ago.

The request comes in a $6.6 billion class-action lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Washington. Fifty-two American diplomats and military officials were held captive for more than a year at the end of Jimmy Carter’s presidency by a group of Islamist students who supported the Iranian revolution.

The hostages were released on Jan. 20, 1981, just minutes after Ronald Reagan was sworn in as the new president.

In court papers filed Tuesday night without any announcement, the Justice Department argued that the agreement to release the hostages, known as the Algiers Accords, precluded lawsuits against Iran. – Fox News

From Jew hating holocaust deniers to a survivor of the camps no less. Anyone still think the UN has a place?

Nicely done…

Canada Fills Obama’s Leadership Void

Thus far, the Obama administration seems more interested in continuing its global apology tour, Latin edition, during this weekend’s Fifth Summit of the Americas than he is in leading. His accusations against America are stronger than his promotion of the institutions and treaties that bring authentic democracy and prosperity to our hemisphere.

“Too often, the United States has not pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors,” he said. “We have been too easily distracted by other priorities and failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress through the Americas.”

Having never set foot south of our border nor paid much attention to the region until this week, he should speak for himself.

Canada, by contrast, is taking the lead. Prime Minister Stephen Harper said his top priority at the Summit is to champion free trade, in line with the will of the region’s real democracies.

“Our focus for the Summit of the Americas will be about free trade and avoiding other countries moving back to protectionist measures,” Harper’s spokesman said. “Canada’s position is that we must not allow the impact of the (financial) crisis to reverse our hard-fought progress towards freer trade and investment.” – IBD

Thousands of homes in America could be contaminated from toxic Chinese drywall, making it the latest “Made in China” scandal.

“This is a disaster of biblical proportions,” said Thomas Martin, president of America’s Watchdog, a citizen-based consumer advocacy group. Used in construction, the tainted drywall emits a sulfur gas that mixes with moisture in the air to produce sulfuric acid—a highly corrosive acid found in acid rain. – Epoch Times

It isn’t clear whether there is anyone in Hollywood that values profit over the production of lefty propoganda.

There is good money sitting on the table waiting to be picked up by the filmmaker who dares to buck the Hollywood tide and make a film about the War on Terror that shows the struggle for what it is, a struggle of good versus evil with clear heroes – us – and clear villains – al Qaeda, the Taliban and all the rest of that sordid crew of thugs.  Americans understand this instinctively.  They will embrace films that do as well.

It is not as if there are no stories to tell.  Five Americans have earned the Medal of Honor in combat during the War – two of them Navy SEALs.  Dozens have earned the Distinguished Service Cross, the Navy Cross, or the Silver Star.  Thousands have earned the Purple Heart.  Many veterans have penned their memoirs. And those are just the real-life stories.  – Big Hollywood
