The Legacy Of Margaret Sanger

“We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.” – Margaret Sanger.

Well don’t look now but it looks like Planned Parenthood will really take your donation to abort a black baby. How do you feel about that Barak?

Actor: I want to specify that abortion to help a minority group, would that be possible?
Planned Parenthood: Absolutely.
Actor: Like the black community for example?
Planned Parenthood: Certainly.
Actor: The abortion – I can give money specifically for a black baby, that would be the purpose?
Planned Parenthood: Absolutely. If you wanted to designate that your gift be used to help an African-American woman in need, then we would certainly make sure that the gift was earmarked for that purpose.
Actor: Great, because I really faced trouble with affirmative action, and I don’t want my kids to be disadvantaged against black kids. I just had a baby; I want to put it in his name.
Planned Parenthood:
Yes, absolutely.
Actor: And we don’t, you know we just think, the less black kids out there the better.
Planned Parenthood: (Laughs) Understandable, understandable.
Actor: Right. I want to protect my son, so he can get into college.
Planned Parenthood: All right. Excuse my hesitation, this is the first time I’ve had a donor call and make this kind of request, so I’m excited, and want to make sure I don’t leave anything out.

A Wasted Opportunity

Muslim law students ” demand reasonable access to media” in a newspaper column. Confused? I know I am. They could have actually tried to rebut MacLeans magazine with their access to the media but instead just demanded more access. Wow. Come to think of it I want some access too you bastards.

But “not today” because the only commenter is Leftdog himself. Comments from the rest of us don’t seem to be allowed today.

I knew I recognized that line from somewhere. Reference to my grandfather’s trips to the hills to cut firewood for the winter. He often had some of the local native men there to give a hand and cook. Use your imagination.

Buried in the community history book of my home town is a quietly remarkable entry for the family of Robert and Margaret Cann. The Cann family moved to southeastern Saskatchewan from Ontario to homestead in 1891. Among the 11 children listed are William Henry (born 1880, died 1898), Iva Louise (born 1890, died 1898), and Dora Alice (born 1894, died 1898).

What happened in 1898? As was the custom in previous years, the Canns had sought the relative comfort of “winter camp” in the wooded range of hills north of their farm to wait out the long months of cold and isolation with other prairie pioneers of the area. Instead, they found diptheria.

The account makes no mention of grief counsellors. – SDA @ NP
