Getting Down To Business

putin.jpg

The Russians have a refreshing way of dealing with this kind of crap. Don’t worry about the media and a a bunch of cowardly opposition members. Just give the order and get the job done. Didn’t Hezbollah learn that lesson the hard way back in the 80’s in Lebanon?
Putin authorizes death for Iraqi killers

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday ordered the country’s secret service to locate and kill the Iraqis who executed four Russian diplomats.

Putin issued the order after conferring with Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia in Moscow, the Interfax news agency reported.

Putin also issued a statement saying “Russia would be grateful to all our friends for giving any information on the criminals who killed our citizens in Iraq,” Itar-Tass reported.

The diplomats were kidnapped June 3 in a raid on a Russian embassy vehicle in Baghdad. Another diplomat was killed during the attack.

Sunday, al-Qaida in Iraq issued an Internet videotape and statement saying the men had been beheaded or shot in retaliation for “the torture, killing and expulsion of our (Muslim) brothers and sisters by the infidel Russian government” in Chechnya. – UPI

We Are Not Alone

I was over at Michael Totten's Blog reading another interesting post on a trip to Lebanon with great pictures. He had a link to this page with pictures from North Korea by some Russian fella. I wouldn't bring this up except for the great caption under one of the pictures which I have reproduced with spelling intact. You probably have to be from Saskatchewan to get the joke though.

As a form of entertainement both Koreas will take you to a visit to the border. One mystery remains, how comme under capitalism the roads are good and under communism sh*tty.

Islamic Justice

Its nice to see that the authorities in Indonesia have their priorities right. Can't have those evil Sunday school teachers operating with impunity.

Caption @ Religion Of Peace : Winners and losers in Islamic Indonesia. One is a Muslim cleric who taught the Bali bombers to slaughter 202 innocents. He's released from jail after only a 26-month sentence. The same court gave the Christian Sunday school teacher on the right three years for teaching others to turn the other cheek.

Indonesia : Sunday School Teachers Sentenced To Three Years In Prison

Rebekka Zakaria, Eti Pangesti and Ratna Bangun received the sentence after judges found them guilty of violating the Child Protection Act of 2002, which forbids "deception, lies or enticement" causing a child to convert to another religion. The maximum sentence for violation of the Act is five years in prison and a fine of 100 million rupiah ($10,226).
The Sunday school teachers had instructed the children to get permission from their parents before attending the program, and those who did not have permission were asked to go home, according to Jeff Hammond of Bless Indonesia. Today, a Christian foundation operating out of Jakarta. None of the children had converted to Christianity.
When the verdict was announced at 11 a.m. local time, the courtroom crowd erupted with shouts of "Allahu akbar". The women plan to appeal the conviction. More @ Voice Of The Martyrs

Looks like Bob Rae and Ujjal Dosanjh are in cahoots now in the Liberal leadership race. I guess if you can't beat them then take them over from within.

If these Islamist hardliners in Somalia think that banning soccer is going to earn them new friends then they need to give their heads a shake. I think we can see the end of Islamism if they keep this up. I know we don't get it here but soccer is to too important overseas to let some religious shithead get in the way.

I first heard the story of Palestinians killed on the beach by IDF artillery on CBC radio coming back from holiday. It sounded fishy from the start. Maybe I was right. If this was a hoax set up by Hamas then the question is – How did these children really die?

The bodies of 14-year-old , Sabrine Ghalia, right, her broter Haitham, 1, and her 18-month-old sister Hanidi, left, are seen before the funeral of six members of the Ghalia family in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya Saturday June 10, 2006. They were killed by an Israeli army artillery shell while on beach picnic Friday.
